Louisiana SenioRx Program
The Louisiana SenioRx Program is designed to help older adults access drug manufacturers' discount cards and pharmaceutical assistance programs and assist them in applying for such programs.

Services include, but are not limited to:

Congregate Meals  Nutritionally balanced meals served in community settings 
Elderly Protective Services  Provided through the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office (337) 332-3344 or (800) 738-3071 
Home Delivered Meals  Nutritionally balanced meals delivered to homebound, frail and disabled elderly
Homemaker  Provide assistance with light housekeeping, shopping or paying bills
In-home Respite  Personal care services provided in the home of the qualifying individual in order to provide a brief period of rest for the client 
Legal Assistance  Legal advice, counseling and representation provided by professional legal service corporations 
Medication Management   Screening and education to prevent incorrect medication and adverse drug reactions
Ombudsman   

Insure residents of Long Term Care facilities receive best possible care and that their rights are protected and promoted

Personal Care  Non-medical assistance with transferring, bathing, dressing, eating and toileting for disabled and elderly with no other means of support 
Recreation  Providing individual and  group activities that promote social interaction and well-being 
Telephoning   Telephone calls to check on older persons
Transportation   Provide transportation to senior centers, medical appointments, and social service agencies 
Visiting   Visiting in the home of older individuals, providing comfort, encouragement, listening, and fellowship
Wellness  

Services to maintain and/or improve mental and physical well-being (exercise, health screenings, medication management, education, nutrition
eduation, socialization and recreation) 

* Cajun Area Agency on Aging Inc. receives federal funds obtained under various Title programs consolidated under the Older Americans Act. State funds authorized by the Legislature and/or appropriated by the Governor, support elderly services and activities, as well.
